DataBoy was made possible by the collective effort and generous contributions of many people. I could not have even begun this project were it not for the published works of the Game Boy development community. This community consists of individuals of all ages, scattered in many countries, sharing a common interest in developing games and other applications that run on the Game Boy. These talented people have meticulously reverse-engineered the Game Boy, figured out how to build compatible hardware and software, created superb development tools, and published their works on the internet. I am indebted to all these people for their exceptional work and spirit of cooperation. I offer special thanks to the following individuals:
In addition, I am grateful for inspiration, suggestions, and assistance from numerous friends and colleagues.
Finally, I must thank my son, Ilyas, for his grudging acceptance of my assertion that the Game Boy stuff in the basement is part of my work and not toys for him to play with. Let's see how much longer I can get by with this story.
